1) A small personal object that means something to you and represents some aspect of you. For example, if you are passionate about chess, then you might send a chess piece. If you are passionate about hand puppets, you might send a hand puppet of me or Martha (make sure to make us as handsome or glamorous as possible). Make sure this item is small enough so that all class items can fit into a shipping box. That means no soccer balls (if you thought about sending a soccer ball, you might fins one of those miniature balls that soccer moms use for their keychains.
A: I would send a small SPQR sign, and one of those mini American flags you find on cupcakes. I love ancient Rome, especially the culture and the warfare. The way to peace is through war, and the ancient Legions of Rome made much peace.
2) A photograph of yourself (we will be taking these photographs in class next week) that will include a personal message about Peace that you will send with your object. On the photograph page, you will also explain why you have chosen your personal object.
A: My personal message is: In my mind, and many others, the way to peace is through war. Arms maintain peace, that is why America has created more peace than any other civilization. We are the only superpower who has not tried to conquer the world. That is one of the reasons Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.
